Purpose of the Role
The Logistics Management Trainee will be a critical player in enhancing our logistics operations and ensuring optimal efficiency. This role is instrumental in mapping logistics processes, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and participating in strategic decision-making that shapes our national logistics framework. Key Responsibilities
As a Logistics Management Trainee, you will be responsible for:
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Assist in documenting and mapping logistics processes within distribution centres.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation and standardisation.
Performance Reporting & Analysis
- Generate weekly and monthly reports to monitor logistics performance indicators like OTIF (On Time In Full) and picking accuracy.
Auditing & Compliance
- Conduct on-site audits to assure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Communicate findings and collaborate with regional managers for corrective measures.
Travel & Engagement
- Regularly visit distribution centres and local stores to observe operations and establish relationships with logistics teams.
Training & Support
- Contribute to the planning and execution of logistics training sessions.
- Prepare training materials and assist in facilitating educational programs.
Safety & Compliance
- Support health, safety, and food safety audits, participating actively in safety committees.
Customer Service & Cost Optimization
- Implement initiatives aimed at enhancing customer service and operational efficiency.
- Assist in the optimisation of logistics processes to reduce costs.
Team Culture & Engagement
- Participate in internal events to foster a positive team environment.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Work Experience: 2-3 years in logistics or supply chain management.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and organisational abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to frequently travel.
