Purpose of the Role

The Logistics Management Trainee will be a critical player in enhancing our logistics operations and ensuring optimal efficiency. This role is instrumental in mapping logistics processes, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and participating in strategic decision-making that shapes our national logistics framework. Key Responsibilities

As a Logistics Management Trainee, you will be responsible for:

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Assist in documenting and mapping logistics processes within distribution centres.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation and standardisation.

Performance Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate weekly and monthly reports to monitor logistics performance indicators like OTIF (On Time In Full) and picking accuracy.

Auditing & Compliance

  • Conduct on-site audits to assure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Communicate findings and collaborate with regional managers for corrective measures.

Travel & Engagement

  • Regularly visit distribution centres and local stores to observe operations and establish relationships with logistics teams.

Training & Support

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of logistics training sessions.
  • Prepare training materials and assist in facilitating educational programs.

Safety & Compliance

  • Support health, safety, and food safety audits, participating actively in safety committees.

Customer Service & Cost Optimization

  • Implement initiatives aimed at enhancing customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the optimisation of logistics processes to reduce costs.

Team Culture & Engagement

  • Participate in internal events to foster a positive team environment.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: 2-3 years in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical and organisational abilities.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
  • Other Requirements: Willingness to frequently travel.
