Purpose of the Role
The Transnet Apprenticeship Programme is a structured, work-based learning opportunity where successful candidates will be trained under the experienced eyes of qualified artisans. Key Responsibilities
As an apprentice, your key duties will include:
- Site Preparation:
- Set up work sites and prepare equipment, tools, and materials.
- Maintain the workspace for efficient operation.
- Tool Operation:
- Use hand, power, and measuring tools accurately and effectively.
- Component Installation:
- Install mechanical components, including basic electrical systems.

- Commission mechanical and electrical systems to ensure functionality.
- Maintenance and Repair:

Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualification: Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- N2 Subjects: Engineering Science, Mathematics (Pure), Fitting & Machining, Engineering Drawing
- N3 Subjects: Mathematics (Pure), Engineering Science, Electro-technology, Fitting & Machining
- NCV Level 4: English (First Additional Language), Mathematics (Pure), relevant vocational subjects
- Technical Grade 12: Mathematics (Pure), Physical Science, Engineering Graphics, and Design
Age Requirement: 18-35 years
