Purpose of the Role
The Handyman at Sun International will be pivotal in executing first-line repairs and maintenance, ensuring the seamless operation of our Waterpark and Workshop facilities. This role supports the company’s mission to deliver an exceptional guest experience through impeccable site maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance & Repairs
- Handle carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC, and flooring tasks.
- Address repair and installation requests efficiently.
- Conduct routine facility inspections to proactively address potential issues.
Equipment & System Maintenance
- Troubleshoot and perform minor adjustments on systems and equipment.
- Engage in preventative maintenance, especially for HVAC systems and plumbing.
Compliance & Safety
- Uphold safety regulations and maintain operational standards for tools and equipment.
- Keep abreast of safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Collaboration & Communication
- Liaise with various departments to coordinate repair schedules.
- Provide management with updates on job statuses and any occurring challenges.
Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Grade 12 or equivalent National Technical Certificate
Work Experience:
- At least 1 year in general maintenance and repairs
Skills & Competencies:
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality
- Strong communication skills
- Initiative and problem-solving capabilities
- Capacity to work independently and manage time effectively
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to operate relevant machinery and equipment
- Physical agility to perform tasks like standing, walking, and climbing
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work shifts based on operational demands
